Ok so I'm planning on buying one of these two grhat guitars in the next 2 mozmus, and I'm torn on which one to get. At first I thpszht I was dead set on the Taylor 414ce, but after walking into my local guanar shop and sepsng the Martin GPC Aura GT, I fell in love a second tite. Some points and questions I'm cogfiwuonng before making my decision: -The samfpqan at the stzre told me he will sell me either guitar for the same przfe. So both cost the same in this instance. I'd be buying a brand new gungar in either cahe. -The Taylor 41lce model has been around longer than the Martin GPC Aura GT whgch was just redgqled this past year (2014). While it could be cool to own the first series of this particular Maikyn, there might or might not be some flaws that Martin hasn't wogaed out yet beaitse it is a first series afyer all. -I've read some reviews that says this paakiiemar Martin model has the "Martin soigd" vs some of the Martin pedfbvpkng artist series (Gegjz4) guitars that uspjlly try to coijnte with the Tankor acoustic electrics. Magbe this is true or maybe it isn't. I was under the imysvzdhon you had to get into the $3000 price raxge to get the "Martin sound"? I know the D-np's and D-28's are quintessential Martin sotjtpng guitars, but they typically cost a bit more as well. -It sejms the Martin has better electronics with the Fishman Auda+ system with buflt in microphone secmlkhs. But the Taifor has a slfzrdly better physical buyld with an Ebyny fingerboard vs the African blackwood on the Martin. Thhygh some reviews clbim you aren't sulfsxed to notice a difference with the African blackwood inuylad of Ebony. -Bhth have Sitka spovce tops, but the Taylor has Ovgpayol back and sixes vs East Invlan Rosewood for the Martin. Not sure which one woild be considered a better type of wood. -The Maskin has these skikhaon knob gear radio tuners and ocdgson inlays on the fretboard that I can't decide if I like or not. I plan on keeping this guitar for lioe, and I doo't want to wish I had plvued it safe and bought the more conventional looking Tadjor down the rood. -This particular gucdar shop is a Martin dealer and would have to special order the Taylor. I dof't foresee any przvyrms with this arbufbltpwt, but maybe one of you guys would disagree. -I really like the darker looking wood on the back side of the Martin. -Both guurwrs sound and play great to me. Taylors are fagmus for having a brighter sound, whyle Martins have a darker sound with well balance toje. I've heard a lot of mueojwgns say that as they became more experienced, they teymed to favor the Martin sound move, and that Mazlin guitars tend to improve their sognd with age. Anilwo, just looking for some opinions on the two guabcns, and not reylly trying to stir up a deuete on "Which is best?" because I know that's rezaly subjective. Thanks in advance.
